Tenet

Introducing Tenet.

Tenet is an intuitive, dynamic, FP&A software platform that converts categorical numbers in an arbitrary spreadsheet to living financial models, adjusting live.

A software add-on for Excel, powering real-time FP&A decisions with priorities handled behind the scenes.

As a result of the way Tenet takes the obscure and makes it tangible, for this project we wanted to move away from the typical After Effects style and build something that felt truly real and grounded in 3D space – something that helped the impact of Tenet feel tangible and familiar.

This is where our 3D environment was born and the emissive lines/cubes we crafted were built to bring Tenet into the 3rd dimension as the software itself does for its customers.

Comprehensive Thinking

THE ASSETS

To make sure that this project worked as hard as possible for Tenet's marketing, we specifically designed the voiceover and story to be segmented so that short visual cuts could be taken from each portion and edited into abbreviated cutdowns without altogether losing their messaging.

Accompanied by the following two cutdowns, our package included a main launch video, a :30 and 2x :15's.

GETTING INTO THE DETAILS

The most crucial aspect of this project was nailing the details – ensuring all aspects of the code behind the software came across beautifully and comprehensibly in this animation.

To do so, we worked in a 2D environment for many rounds of iteration to ensure that every element of the message would not only be communicated efficiently but flow well and maintain the audience's attention throughout before we moved to the more tedious 3D animation work.

Below are the 2D storyboards that allowed us to hit every objective for the Tenet team...

Being one of the most technical projects we've ever tackled, our team really dove into the math on this project to not only understand the product's inner-workings, but to procedurally design the 3D models and texturing for this project so that everything was easily scalable and iterative across the entire sequence.

The result was a SaaS style explainer in a 3D environment that made complex mathematical equations tangible and digestable!
